Can astrology help you conceive?

University-based research suggests it can. Dr. Pat Harris, PhD, a UK based astrologer, with over 30 years experience as a consultant astrologer, conducted a study carried out at three UK fertility clinics between 2002 and 2005. Dr. Harris consulted previous astrological models from ancient astronomer Ptolem, as well as 17th century English astrologer William Lilly. Both had also gathered research focusing on the relationship between planetary alignments and woman’s fertility.

The Study

Dr. Harris began with an exploratory group of women undergoing fertility treatments. The group of women was then divided into two groups, those who had successfully conceived and carried to full term, and those who unfortunately had not. After cross referencing their birth charts and calculating progressions, she found that Ptolemy’s view of Venus’s impact on fertility was accurate.

The Findings

Dr. Harris’s study concluded that Venus and Jupiter play a significant role in having children. Furthermore, those particular alignments had better chances for success. For instance, if the Sun and Venus were scheduled to make contact within six months on both sides of attempted conception odds of success were greatly increased. Dr. Harris has documented “Astro-facility” windows designed to help determine optimal dates for conception. According to her research when fertility treatments coincide with these Astro-fertility widows, success rates were increased by around 25%.

Her research has been so beneficial to numerous women that it has been incorporated as an alternative diagnostic tool by many healthcare professionals. It has even prompted the development of a computerized system assisting women with conception times.
