Learning and utilizing Tarot is perfect for self-development, making choices, manifesting goals, coaching others, planning a business, meditating, and many more life tasks. The tarot is more about intuition than fortune telling. We will spend Tuesdays teaching you how to access your intuition and enhance your inner wisdom and card knowledge to help you create your ideal future and manifest your goals. This week we will cover the most basic steps to learning tarot.
Choosing a deck
There are limitless options when it comes to types of decks all with their own symbolism, energy, stories, mythology and artwork. This will be the first major task of trusting your intuition. If you’re new to Tarot, you may prefer to start learning with the most popular Tarot deck, the Rider Waite deck, however the best way to choose a Tarot deck is to find one that you personally and intuitively connect with. What is your first reaction to the images? Do you like the colors and patterns? Are you drawn to the images and the artwork? Are there other variations of the deck that are more appealing? As you become more proficient with tarot you will find that you will accumulate different decks for different goals.
Learn the Meanings
Discover the traditional meanings, symbolism, and the numerological and elemental associations of the cards. Most Tarot decks will come with a book explaining the artwork and the Tarot card meanings. However, some decks have more information than others. Before beginning readings, it is imperative that you have a basic understanding of each of the cards.
Start Small
Don’t worry about learning intricate spreads right off the bat. Start off just drawing one card from your deck each day while asking “what do I need to know for today?” Learn to use your intuition to understand what that card meant for you as you go through your day. This will help you build a stronger understanding and connection with your cards.
We look forward to helping you develop your connection with Tarot every Tuesday.
